Do any car repair or maintenance and you?re most likely left with two things: DIY satisfaction and a couple of grease-stained paws. The latter can be a problem if your shop doesn?t have a sink or you?re working in a racetrack paddock. How do you get the grime off?
We?ve tried several methods over the years, from latex gloves to abrasive cleaners applied with a rag that left our hands raw. But we recently came across Gojo?s Scrubbing Wipes and have found them to be very effective.
There are 72 wipes per $10 tub (a 25-count canister is also available). Each large sheet is soaked with a combination of degreaser and skin conditioner. One side of the sheet is textured and effectively scrubs away the sort of grit comes from, say, replacing a long-leaking power-steering rack. The opposite side is smooth and soaks up any remaining dirt, and leaves a light coat of what feels like moisturizer.
Often, one sheet does the trick. And after using the wipes all winter, our knuckles never sprouted the painful dry cracks that we usually endure during the cold months.?
